This is what a Post Apocalyptic Samurai looks like...

San Francisco has been ravaged by zombies, there are pockets of people trying to make new lives for themselves in this post apocalyptic world.

Who you gonna call?

Diane's Thelma to my Louise

Or vice versa. With no tragic ending. Just many miles driven in the blazing sun, with much cursing, laughing and scouting of drawing sites.

That is summer in the south of France with Diane Olivier. It is a great adventure.

Drawrrrin' it up this Saturday

It has been way too long since I put Micron to paper. I made some Prismacolor marks today, but it was on pattern paper, so I don't feel like that counts.

So we're gonna drawr it up on Saturday at Utrecht. It's gonna be like a party, with artists and artmaking, and Ben is going to wear lots of Samurai costumes. And we're going to draw and probably drink something brown and if I'm lucky maybe Ben will let me touch his sword. Right right. Keep it clean.

So this is what it will look like:

Dr Sketchy's SF presents a special event at Utrecht Art Supplies

And if you are inclined to join us, you can reserve your seat here:

And if you are in need of some rad art materials, there is this:

Dr Sketchy's approved drawrrring (and watercoloring) Kit

These are the materials that I use and love. It's a perfect kit for taking in a small bag, to work, and then to Dr Sketchy's. Or Pop it into your bag, then do some drawrrring at Dr Sketchy's, and then go out. And it's not a big deal, it's a small deal.

The kit is $45.99, and that includes a full set of microns and admission this Saturday. Draw with you soon, yo.

My workspace today

2.17.12 workspace
This is how my workspace is shaping up. That pegboard makes me incredibly happy.

A couple of weeks ago, I rode a 70 mile Populaire-scouting mission with my riding buddy, Ely. Next month, we're planning a ride to Santa Cruz. I hope that will make my goal of riding 100 miles in one day. Then the SF Randonneurs' Populaire is March 31st. I learned some things about what to eat and drink on an extended ride, I bonked. Next time I hope to have that stuff worked out.

Work has been quite busy lately and organizing 'on the road' Dr Sketchy's events is more time consuming than usual Dr Sketchy's planning. Oh and I don't even know how to even talk about what is going on with my aging parents, or if I should in this forum. I feel like I have this layer of upset with me all the time. So anything extra just piles on top of that baseline of emo. It is Super.

So today I am looking forward to making some clothing. See ya later, internets.

Dr Sketchy's SF February

Whew, this past week has been a whirlwind of Dr Sketchy's activity. We're taking it on the road next month and it has made for a bit of extra work planning and getting my to-do list completed.

We've had to make some tough decisions, such as a raise in price, but with event spaces comes rental fees. Also, we're bringing the price in line with most 3 hour figure drawing sessions in San Francisco. To offset that, there is a more 'open' adult beverage policy, and that can keep costs low for a good night out of quality drawrrring.

Without further ado and with utmost excitement, I present :
